VISIT OF NB8 PARLIAMENTARIANS IN MOLDOVA
On 30 March – 1 April the Chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Nordic-Baltic Parliaments visit Moldova.
On 30 March – 1 April the Chairpersons of the Foreign Affairs Committees of the Nordic-Baltic Parliaments visit Moldova.
The visit of the Nordic-Baltic Chairpersons is an expression of the commitment and strong support of the Nordic and the Baltic countries for Moldova and for Moldova’s aspirations towards membership of the European Union. The visit will focus on regional foreign policy and security issues, including in light of the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as domestic and other challenges facing Moldova on its path towards European integration.
The visits includes meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova, H.E. Maia SANDU and with colleagues in the Parliament of Moldova, including the Vice Presidents of the Parliament Doina GHERMAN and Vlad BATRÎNCEA, and the chairpersons and members of the Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration, the Committee on National Security, Defence and Public Order and the Special Commission for Parliamentary Monitoring and Control over the Implementation of Reintegration Policies in the Republic of Moldova.
The Nordic-Baltic (NB8) Chairpersons will also meet representatives of civil society organisations. Finally, the NB8 Chairs will pay a visit to the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Găgăuzia where they will meet representatives of the People’s Assembly of Găgăuzia and with the major of the city of Comrat, Serghei ANASTASOV.
