Thursday 24 January 2024 at the Palace of the Republic, Denmark’s Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen inaugurated the new Danish Embassy to the Republic of Moldova. Flanked by Foreign Minister Popescu and with attendance of representatives from the Moldovan government, civil society and the diplomatic corps, the Danish Minister handed over the shield with the coat of arms to Ambassador Søren Jensen and deputy head of mission Jasmin Sørensen.

“I am impressed by Moldova’s reform achievements so far,” said Minister Rasmussen. “In addition to strengthen bilateral relations, helping Moldova reach its European ambitions will be a main task for the new Embassy.”

As for now, the Embassy is mainly virtual. Ambassador Jensen will in the coming months establish a physical presence, identifying both appropriate premises and staff.
